From the age of dinosaurs: at least that's what the package says! Triops are sort of like brine shrimp but yet they are different, at least that?s what the company that packages this product says! Anyway, Triops are eggs which are found in dried up ponds and remain in suspended animation until the pond again fills with rain water and the eggs hatch and the life cycle continues until once again the pond dries up. Triops when placed in water will hatch in about 24 hours and will live between 20 and 70 days when fed with the food which is included. They can grow to about 2 inches in length. If nothing else,Triops sure do look prehistoric! |
