It's obvious to us that the Celestial Seeker is patterned after a Star Trek Tricorder so maybe you can use it beam up if all else fails. In the meantime you can use this star finder to find various star constellations and other astronomical sights. The Seeker contains 20 constellation cards which are slid individually into the backlit (batteries not included) top portion of the unit for easy viewing in the dark. The lower part of the unit contains a storage area for cards not in use. A compass is included to help you get yourself pointed in the right direction for viewing each individual constellation as indicated on a particular card. The unit folds in half for ease of transportation. As far as star finders go, this particular unit is rather simple in purpose but for some explorers that might be just the ticket as the information provided is not overwhelming for the beginner and the self contained backlit seeker displays the night sky constellations one at a time for easier visual identification. Four seasonal maps are included for each season which show the entire night sky.
